Terra Museum

You will learn about the past, present, and future of the rural world

To know where we are going, we need to know where we came from

Urban gardens, organic food, sustainable, zero km, eco-friendly, bio…

Every day we invent new labels for what our grandparents knew 100 years ago. Therefore, perhaps the best way to understand where our future is headed is to take a look at our past and relearn the value of effort, patience, or simply how much work it takes to grow a healthy lettuce. A visit to the Terra Museum of the Carulla Foundation (one of the most modern in our country) is ideal for both children and adults to discover all this and much more.

With over 5,000 square meters, the Terra Museum is one of the leading ethnological museums in the country. It features an extensive permanent exhibition that showcases what life was like in the rural world of Catalonia, and by extension, in the Mediterranean, before the industrial revolution, what it is like today, and what it could be like in the future. Additionally, it boasts a large ethnobotanical garden, transforming into a magnificent recreational and educational space dedicated to preserving ancestral knowledge about plants and garden products.

The museum serves as a cultural center with a wide range of activities for all audiences, temporary exhibitions, and the organization of major events, such as the Education for Sustainability Festival and the RUSC Poetry Festival, among others.

Don’t miss it! Come and discover the Terra Museum; the cultural center of memory, reflection, and sustainable transformation from the rural world.
